A great read...thought provoking
Naked in a sandstorm is an interesting book. I found the subject thought provoking. Some parts of the story made me re-examine my values in my life, to correct and reconnect to my enlightened outlook in life. I discovered a more exciting way of living my life...more joy! Be strong America...i believe a book like this will strengthen our spirit at a time like this! Naked in a sandstorm was recommended to me by a friend. She said she enjoyed it very much, but most significantly, she found the philosophies and principles very inspiring and soul searching. I happened to read this book after the terrorist attack on the W orld Trade Center and the Pentagon. I found deep meaning in the story and the philosophy contained in the book. The book strengthened my spirit, restored my faith and brought meaning to living. I understood revelations about war, destruction, fear, faith in God, meaning of life and destiny. I think the book will help heal the wounds, the spirit of all Americans on the aftermath of the terrorist attacks and the Antrax fear that is sweeping the nation. I enjoyed the book. I feel it should be read by all. Its a great book!

One story that you would hope doesn't end quite unique reading where you find yourself thinking about it during the day and then can't wait to get back to reading again. I am on my second time reading this book.

This is a book, you will enjoy reading twice! I was absorbed in the book on two levels. I lost myself in this story of adventure, war and fantasy set in a far away land, during an ancient era of mystery, magic and meyham. This story of fantasy is laced and sprinkled with philosophy and principle of living...from a totally new fresh perspective...i read again to absorb these philosophies and ancient secrets. Naked in a sandstorm, is a 'must' book for your family reading. Children and adults will enjoy the adventures with the host of characters, with such colorful names like, Avhmon, Moreihe, Charaka, Humayal, Devtha, etc, brought to life with creative story telling. Also recommended: 'Celebrate your life'

This is a book that will earn a permanent place on your bookshelf.
I loved this book. I learned about a country and culture that was foreign to me. The characters might have had strange sounding names but they were as familiar as you and I. Avhmon is a flawed young man on a quest to higher knowledge. Moreihe is his teacher, a great sage. The path to enlightenment is filled with tension and conflict. As Avhmon is taught and learns, so does the reader. I only wish Oprah would read and choose this as a selection for her book club.

On the northern fringes of the valley, dusk approached silently, bringing with it chill winds that blew in from the surrounding mountains, stirring up clouds of sand. It howled through the dusty roads of Ratnapuri.
Twisting; turning, the fierce winds sprayed sand across the rows of houses fronting the streets. Rattling timber shutters joined the cacophony of wheezing, whistling sounds, and the bleating of terrified sheep.
Night descended pregnant with darkness, belching violent thunder. Lightning flashed sudden brightness for split seconds at a time, revealing wind buffeted drizzle. On the lush tree laden slopes of Crystal Mountain stood a beautiful house, at peace amid the impending storm....
