Dear Cairns Libraries member,

Cairns Libraries, with the support of State Library of Queensland, is upgrading from Lynda.com to LinkedIn Learning for Library. From 4am May 25, 2021, we will be unable to provide access to Lynda.com for a significant period. We are working with the vendor to restore access as soon as possible, and at this point we are unable to advise when this will occur.

Due to technical constraints outside of our control, it was not possible to migrate your current Lynda.com account to the new LinkedIn Learning for Library. This means that after 24 May 2021 your Lynda.com account history will no longer be available. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

To preserve your learning history, we strongly recommend that you login to your Lynda.com account before 24 May 2021 and manually save your viewing history and certificates. You can save your viewing history by taking screenshots of the list of viewed courses and videos. You can save your certificates by clicking ‘View/Share’ and then saving them as PDFs.

If you maintain a current library membership you will be able to access LinkedIn Learning for Library once service is restored, but you will have to make a new LinkedIn Learning account.

Sincerely,

Eresources
To log into the new linked in accounts, we need the library card number that was used to sign up for the lynda account. Can we get these?
No more access to Lynda. Any fix?
Is Lynda account available now?
Yeah, got the same email and lost access to Lynda. Waiting for an update from OP.

Yes, I got this email also -- and cannot access without Library card number and Pin.

When I tried to login with my usual email it said it wasn't recognized!

But, hey, I bought this back in July 2018 and it's been great.
3 years of full access for $5 is pretty good in my book, so no complaints here.

But yes, sad -- and would like to get a new one!
When I bought this back in July 2018, the seller told me it was 'guaranteed' and 'could not be patched'

I also asked if it was a 'library hack' (of some kind) and he said 'no' because it uses MY email and password and not the library card number, etc.

So it is strange that we are all sent this email, and lost access.

I trust the seller because even if I have lost access, I did get 3 years access for $5 -- which is very good value. If he'd sold me 3 eyars access for $5 I would have bought it! So, no complaints from me, but curious to hear from the seller what the problem is, because he definitely said it wasn't reliant on the library details.

Here:

Magma Wrote:What kind of membership is this? I don't see any details in the profile about payments (doesn't say trial or student, etc) or length of membership -- what kind of membership is it?

G3N!US Wrote:SECRET METHOD,, WILL SELL METHOD FOR $199.

Guaranteed to work and will not get patched

Magma Wrote:Thanks -- I don't want to buy the method I was just interested to know what kind of membership I had.

But now I see, on my profile, it says:
Organization details
Which library are you from:Somerset Regional Council

So I guess it's some kind of library membership. I saw a video last week on creating lifetime Lynda memberships using Calvary library memberships (free) so I guess it's like that.

G3N!US Wrote:Actually not cause those library card and pin memberships die soon.. This is on your email and name.. This is special
