ATM machines run on XP and some banking systems still run OS2Warp.

Institutions are slow to move and not always able to move. That is why banks are in the shit. Can't upgrade to Windows10, so what do they do? Can't close for a reinstall, can't test every part of the interconnected system (ATM, Forex, Banking, Mortgages etc.). They will go crypto after they and the Govt. find a way to control, tax and steal a %.

and who wants to hack some kid with a gaming rig? - They don't have real money.
