I have Spotify premium atm. If I downgrade and buy your premium account will that work?

As long as its downgraded ot a free account, then yes no problem at all.
Once a year is up, can I renew the account for another year, same account?
If not, would I lose my song lists or can I download them? (new to Spotify, so not sure how it works with your lists of songs, etc.)

It should last for over a year but the warranty is 1 year. If not it goes back to Free account. I don't use Spotify myself but you should be able to save your playlists.
