They implemented a "Pay what you want" offer...however, it kept rejecting what I offered $.99 and $1.00.

That's when I figured it was time to check in here for your collective best practice.

What's the best way to acquire this material without jumping through their hoops?

It mentions at the bottom of the ad "suggested donation $5" so that's probably the minimum offer they will allow. Looks interesting for sure. If no one from here accesses the info on the free in the next few days, I will probably see about it for $5.
