Whenever you decide to download a
.exe file you are accepting the risks irrespective of what ANYONE else tells you.
If the file is deliberately dangerous (and I am in no way suggesting that it is) you should not expect someone who knowingly shares such a file to confess or admit that it is unsafe...this is the internet we're talking about and all manner of people in the blackhat world.
So make your own decision because ultimately it's up to you.
