Hi folks,
I just had the owner of this product PM me and politely ask that I remove the download link that I put up.
Now, I have had my stuff shared in the past, a great buddy of mine had his stuff shared, and it doesn't bother us because, just like torrents, it actually helps to put your name out there, especially if the product was good. I also know for a fact that those products I know full well about had actually increased in sales (supporter sales, sales to make sure they received the updates, and so on).
But, that being said, many people do not like it, and since the person is a member, I will attempt to take down the link that I put up. However, I do not own the account where it is uploaded, so I cannot promise it will come down.
To the owner, those who liked your product and never heard of you will probably look for your name on the next product you launch, and if they didn't buy this one to support you, they will most likely do so on the next one.
My thoughts are...I have bought stuff in past...mainly themes and plugins...which degraded, didn't work cause the wso didn't update or support the product

think - use a library? get books and much more rent free and read
think - buy a book and finish it....sell it at ebay, amazon, garage sale..
buy used books..trade and borrow...give..sell...

BUT at some point these clever gurus made IM newbies drink the kool aid ..."buy ...can't share.....support the guru" blah blah
and the gurus are mostly regurgitating stuff over over...very little new
yawn....makes me sick. At the bedraggled warrior pile I have seen losers that never made a $ at this get excited about taking a course to launch their "product" haha
I also remember when WP launched free open source...it had "skins"..then some folks made fancy skins..and charged..and so forth.

nothing wrong with supporting the creators if we download something here that has been useful to us. i personally only come on here to download once in a while because i agree with the rest of your post 100%.
as far as being obliged to take down a link because the creator is a member? bullshit! unless that member wants to create a bso, then he's s.o.l. unless it's breaking forum rules. i can only think of 3 reasons why a creator of a product would be on this forum. #1 create a bso. #2 troll. #3 download stuff without paying for it first. now obviously he didn't create a bso for his product. so this creator is either a troll or a hypocrite. both are in bad taste in my opinion so i wouldn't do him any favors
