I have had some experience of PR and specifically Google News. As bobhenry said, 'this is going to get harder' because Google (like other platforms) wants to increase its customer experience. It doesn't want to devalue that experience. So it will be looking very closely at sites that a) don't have good content b) don't contain regular or plentiful content which bobhenry also says in his review. This is no return to the Wild West of the mid noughties. Anyone thinking they can blast out a few CPA offers at the end of a hurriedly spun product descriptions will not get past first base. To be fair to Luther, that is not what he is advocating here. Anyone following this step by step guide should be asking 'how can I promote my NEWS site in a way that helps Google enhance its use experience?' The two have to be linked. Once approved, the mindset then would have to be News over Promotion, which of course can come later, once the site is established with a regular flow of curated or self generated content. I hope that helps.
