@GalaxyQuest2: Thank you for sharing the link to the software.

I am a little confused by your edited post "bumping for this." I shared the entire Rapid Puzzle Book Domination file on yesterday. If you don't have it yet, download it from my Mediafire link in the post dated October 1, 2020 but I think you already have it because you repped me for the post.

@All:

ABOUT THE SOFTWARE

As for the software, first, go to the website and carefully read and follow the instructions for downloading, installing and extracting the software to your computer. If you're using Windows (as I am) it can be tricky if you don't have Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed (or properly installed). That's the issue I'm having at the moment(see NOTE below) but aside from that, you must follow the steps in the instructions or the software will not open/run.

AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS HERE:

On the page at the link above, you will click the button at the end of the page to get to the software download.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I sent the creator of the software an email last night and (to my surprise!) he answered. He says Windows users have the most challenging time with this software because JRE is either not installed, installed properly or has been hijacked by another program. He could only recommend that I go back and repeat each step very carefully and don't skip over anything. So that is what I'll do.

Here is a link to help you troubleshoot Java if that is your issue, too:

TROUBLESHOOT JAVA ON
YOUR COMPUTER

The software developer also said I should also try another web browser (other than Chrome) because Java has been disabled in Chrome and Chrome-enabled browsers. Just a tip, if it helps.

Thanks

Wonderful followup Layna and share together with trouble shooting tips. Two thumbs up and repped again.
Ditto! Layna61524, you have saved a lot of folks a lot of time with the troubleshooting information you added in Post #12. Thanks MAX reps added.
Thank you both, kontiki and fjohnson59. Glad I could help.

Now, if I can just get Crossword Express to work on my Windows computer! I'm still having issues with my Javascript (it says I am using the current version) and the crossword software opens but gives the error message that something in setup was wrong.

As I mentioned, I emailed John Stevens (the developer of Crossword Express) and he said that what I'm experiencing is a common occurrence for Windows users and that I should do the steps all over again (not overlooking anything) ... and to follow the details very carefully.

I thought I had done that but I will try and try again.

Luckily, folks NOT using Windows will not have this problem.

If anyone out there is using Windows 10 and has worked this out, please send me a PM to tell me what you did.

Thanks

Many thanks Layna! You rock!
I was able to get this to work on Windows 10 using the java fixer file that he links to in the troubleshooting section of his website.

Layna, thanks so much for the share! Greatly appreciated.

This is the file that is mentioned about above...

If you doubleclick on a jar file, and your Java application does not start, your .jar association has been hijacked. You can fix the problem with Jarfix.
