Layna, yepp you are right to be pissed off if your helpful posts and shares are deleted for no apparent reason (and with no explanation given). As I understand it, it was a similar frustration with the mods that ultimately led to Non-Conformer stop contributing and sharing stuff here at BBHF.

Now, it's safe to say that you, me and all the other users do not control BBHF. Someone else does. They can do whatever they want. They have the right to do so. Thinking otherwise is delusion. That being said, it's obviously in THEIR best interest to encourage people to share and contribute and NOT delete helpful posts so the users like us keep logging on, keep contributing and keeps the forum active and alive.
Thank you, tomwheelskirt. You're right --- and I agree with you --- that BBHF has the right to delete posts or threads. It's their site; but just because you can do something doesn't always mean you should.

Like a coin (or a pancake, as Dr. Phil has said), every argument has two sides.

I "get" that some of the B-H search hacks I have shared could, ultimately, lead people to downloads of products that may have a GB offer in place but those hacks also could help people who want to learn something to become more self-sufficient (and hopefully contributing) members of this community.

My goal in posting these tutorials is purely educational; I'm not trying to interfere with the chump-change GB sellers make.

If a share negatively impacts a GB, then taking it down is the right thing to do.

What I'm talking about, though, is when my share is generic in nature and shows you how to find stuff (with no specific product named) and I see the error message that a link was blocked because there's a GB for it, I call B-S.

Case-in-point: An entire e-book download site is blocked now. In the past, when someone asks for a re-up or posts a REQ thread for a book title, it was easy for me to refer them over to that site or to simply post the link. Thanks to the block-happy moderators, I can't do that anymore.

How on earth can there be a GB for tens of millions of e-books?

The way I look at it is this: The purpose of a black-hat site is to primarily share files and/or one's knowledge on how to find them. There is nothing wrong with GBs but they have their place and it isn't inside of the public section of the forum; yet I see GB hawks swipe in soon after a REQ thread is posted. I go to REQ threads to try and help provide links I find.

My most recent search engine hack (with thousands of Views) was for finding resell rights product links. It was quickly taken down and I wouldn't have been the wiser hadn't someone asked me about it.

It's as frustrating A-F!

Thanks
for reading!

Just the other day, I was looking for one of your recent posts on finding stuff and it was gone. That is such valuable information. I hope you have copies. Maybe there's another place that appreciates that type of content.
