There is already a free WP plugin: Really Simple SSL
https://wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-ssl/
That's what I've been using on 2 domains with 3 sub-domains and 2 Let'sEncrypt SSL certs. No problems and Chrome gives a green signal.

Or you can install an SSL cert yourself with Let'sEncrypt:
