When there is "siteID=" in the url, then it is an affiliate link.

I totally understand that we shouldn't use affiliate links in BBHF (in this section).
I am curious to know what happens when an affiliate link is used. Will the affiliate get money when we sign up for free using these links?
Since these are just free, how would they work? I want to understand the process in using an affiliate link for promoting a free course.

Free purchase though valid does not net them any money, so you won't get any as well. Else, they could go kaput paying money for promoting free courses!

If someone clicks on the Udemy affiliate link. Even though it could be free course or course with 100% off coupon. Affiliate cookies will stay in his browser for 30 days. Later on, if that person purchases any course within a period of 30 days, the affiliate will get a commission for that sale.
Moreover, affiliate links are not allowed according to BBHF Udemy section rules.
