It took me about 25 days to be approved so i not think all take same time...thanks for great share repped given

This might help people who had their account terminated due to inactivity.

I registered 12 months ago and not sure when I got approved and never got an email. When I logged into Merch a couple weeks ago I got a notice my Merch account was suspended due to inactivity.

Then I contacted customer support which told me that I am able to reapply with a new account using a different email address. So it's been 2 weeks since I did that and now check every few days to see if my account is active.
