At one time I really liked Zippyshare. It was efficient (I did not have a difficult time trying to figure out which button to click on to download a file). The pop-ups could be managed. If the file was still available, download was usually as fast as any other free file sharing site.

Currently I am having some issues with Zippyshare (I believe it is with Zippyshare) and wish to start a discussion about this with people who are smarter than me.

I am running Win 10 with Firefox and Norton. Zippyshare appears to have a rotating double pop-up with voice over says that your computer has been infected and to immediately call Microsoft with the telephone number provided. I have never called the telephone number. I have gotten this on several different computers and IP addresses 6 – 10 times in the past month or so.

My problem is that this pop-up takes over and freezes my computer most of the time. The only way to gain control usually is to manually turn off the computer and start over.

Does anybody have anti-virus or firewall that prevents this?

Has anybody figured out a way to re-gain control of their computer without powering down?

Or maybe I should stop using Zippyshare.

Thanks reading this.

Hi,

Downloading from ZippyShare is VERY EASY.
Only 2 clicks. The file will be on your desktop.

You don't have to visit ZippyShare (or Other File sharing sites).

Use "FreeRapid Downloader" (FRD).
I am using this for many years.

FRD can download YouTube, DailyMotion, Vimeo etc videos or any files
from 700+ 'File Sharing Sites' (including xxx streaming) with EAZE.

You will know it's comfortability once you use it.
It is only 17 MB and Portable (No need to install).
(You will need JAVA in your computer, if not, it will automatically download Java).

Visit: http://wordrider.net/freerapid/
Download: http://wordrider.net/freerapid/download.htm
[Download from any mirror and unzip it somewhere (eg: in MyDocument) and click Frd icon].

They have a forum to help users if they have any problem with plug-ins.
If you can't find a plug-in in FRD for downloading a file (eg: a video) from a site
(eg: vimeo.com), you can request it in forum and they will make one for you (and all) free.
Visit Forum: http://wordrider.net/forum/list/10

See, all the new and updated plug-ins will be automatically downloaded to your Frd.

Thanks for the tip, i use Jdownloader and does the job perfectly with any link it parses mulliple links and gives you which direct download link is online which is not, no popups no nothing.
So far I never had any issuse with Zippy but there is another share site that gives me this popup but I do not remember which one it was. The tab could not be closed, the only way to get out of it is to close the browser thats 11angry
