Glad you liked it.
How many coupons were offered, because isn't the minimum 100 coupons? Sticky thread in the rules.
Hi there is no such rule.

It used to be a rule in the Udemy section and I figured it transferred over.

There were issues with instructors giving away 5, 10 or 20 coupons (which are gone in seconds) just to get exposure for their courses and hook people in with crappy discounts. It became a real problem. Back in the day, 100 Udemy coupons would last a few days. Now 100 udemy coupons barely lasts an hour, if you're lucky. Imagine what it's like feelign like you have to check these threads every hour just to get a coupon...it's beyond annoying. It's psychotic.

And Skillshare is still small but I'm seeing the same d*** thing starting to happen here. Course creators are offering 10-20 coupons which are gone in minute. It's demotivating and pisses some members off. It starts to become pointless to even go looking for coupons because they'll already gone by the time you check the thread a few hours later. All "new" fresh looking threads" become posts of non stop "bumping coupon requests" or an author posting another handful of coupons 2, 3or even 4 x because they're always getting sold out....but you look at the about of sign ups and it's in the low 2 digits. How does pissing off 100s if not thousands of members help promote your course or brand in the long run?

This a thread for free coupons and people come here to actual get a hold of coupons...not get bitterly disappointed every time the check a thread. And if this seems like entiltement? Ah, yeah it is. It's called free coupon thread for a reason. We do expect to find them when we open a thread offering one.

If a batch of coupons can't last more than a day, there is something wrong with the amount being offfered IMO.

I might chat with staff and see if we can have the "min 100 coupon rule" re-instituted because are starting to look like they do in the Udemy Free Coupon forum.

If you want more reviews, you're not likely to get it from offering 20 coupons or even 50. Typical response for most volunteered reviews is 1% or less unless you incentivize. And even then, it takes some pressuring. For every 100, you're lucky if you get 1 review in a wee or months time. Anyways, to me it's common sense. Offer more coupons at the start of your courses to build numbers and reviews...then use #s as leverage to get more paying customers and build your reputation.

But what do I know... It's your decision to choose to offer whatever amount of coupons you want. (unless the rules change back again).

Ok that was a long thread, I just skimmed through it. The fact that I did not find your issue in the Skillshare rules section makes it not worth ranting on my thread. But I have already given the next coupon the next work day because I realized that 20 coupons is too small.

I don't know why there's a lot of hate in your very last post, as if all I did from the very start that I've been here on BBHF is to SPAM you guys. I've given here more love and contribution in the past 4-5 yaers, so don't be hard on it. It's not on the Skillshare rules (yet), so don't put the hate you gave on the Udemy guys here.

I agree with your point though, a very small number of coupons isn't helping anyone, whether the instructor or the student. So if you would like to contact the admins now and let them re-instate the rule, I would very much cooperate. But at the time this was posted I did not see it exist, so don't be hard on us. It's not my intention to "demotivate you" or "piss you off". How about a change of words? That might make me see your point in a different light.

Thanks for the info though. I'm not sure if that helped me understand the situation or demotivate me.
