QUICK REVIEW :he uses super pages to find local domains and yes you can find some really Great local domains using his method.
He then goes on to suggest you build a directory , contact businesses and try and sell advertising or simply flip the domain
When this course was published ( and its a few years old now) he said he got his directory to show up on the first page pretty quick but considering how old this course i'm not sure it would work today
Afterall you are competing with google maps that really pinpoint services in your local area .
Never the less you might be still able to build a site with a local domain and pass link juice to your main site you'll never know until you try
