Old method? Surely its the "classic" method of all business.
Person has problem. Seeks problem solver. Expects to pay for problem to be resolved.
Do not expect people to know the nuts and bolts of domains and hosting. They do not.
Keep your expectation realistic. 500 clients paying you $200/year is a $100,000 a year business!
BUT if it was that easy. 50 clients year one $10k/yr less than one a week.
As your craft improves you can scale it up and people will seek you out.
The money is is in retention and continuous payment. Another factor is hosting. The money is in owning the hosting. First law of business: own the freehold!
