There is also the ratio of percentages. You're likely to get 0.5- 1.0% of reviews based on the amount of people who sign up unless you incentivize.

1000 students will yield on average 5-10 reviews. That's why most people give free coupons away like crazy. It's not a loss of money per say because most of the people won't spend money on a course anyways.

Truth be told, it's mostly freebiw seekers. Not all people will be though. A god 10-20% of freebie joiners will be real students.

I like the 2-3 discount. Great way to get people involved who can't afford the full price but likely are serious about using the course.
