It's really straight foward, simple copy and paste mostly so no experience is needed. Amazon/ebay's pages are not targeting cities - these are so authority sites are irrelevent. Backlinking is not needed. Most of the visitors come from unique long tail searches that have zero competition.
This works very well with popular physical products (eg diet pills), not necessarily new ones but ones that are popular.
