one week ago i started a new aweber account and had no problems turning off the double optin option, now it has disappeared. (after another account i just started today. Anyone else having problems? This is just since the last few days in November 2015, anyone else should be able to turn off the double optin before that

Hi mate, indeed this is the case. Especially for new accounts or account that has under 5k leads. My advice is to go to getresponse (if you want to deal with autoresponders) - They have the option to click to single opt-in, from opening an new account.
