The buttons are gone because the "Idea Panel" doesn't close anymore. Instead, the user can just change it's width. But it's always open. So there's nothing to open anymore.
The Select All and Clear buttons can just be done by highlighting the text with your mouse, or with keyboard shortcuts - CONTROL+A or Backspace or Delete. Or right-click with your mouse and you can get the same functions. Though many people seem to miss those buttons so I might put them back.
I have to redo my screenshots on my website but i havent had much time because of Christmas and the holidays. Hopefully i can do the new screenshots this weekend.
