Ok, I feel silly. I got it download, figured out how to unlock the zip file with secret code. but how do you upload it? do you need the standard plugin? Then add these files. After unlocking I try to zip it back up and upload it but that didn't work either. Please help

A license for TEC is used to provide Automatic Updates and access to the Event Aggregator service offered by Modern Tribe, and the plugins will function perfectly fine without them.
If you want to be able to auto-import events, either buy a License from Modern Tribe, or you can try using the retired import plugins (in the VIP link shared in my OP).
