I have come across this formula before of getting views first to an unlisted video before making it public.
What worries me is that Youtube has been cracking down on these 'manufactured' views that you can buy, and I'm not sure if they have figured out how to determine if these views are 'fake' in the sense that they are purchased.

I agree with you rainmaker. A couple weeks ago my YT account disappeared and I had to experience the feeling of knowing I just lost a channel with 200 videos and 200 subscribers. Many of the videos took a lot of time to create as well. Fortunately my account was restored after they determined it was illegitimately flagged, but like most of us, I was guilty of doing things that were technically against the ToS such as keyword stuffing at the bottom of my description.
So all I'm saying is, you should really think twice before doing anything unnatural with a channel that means something to you because the more you violate ToS the more fire you're playing with.
And that begs the question, if a course like Tube Ranking Formula is telling us to do something that can ultimately wipe out our entire channel, can it really be considered a good course? I'd hope the author makes it clear to use his methods at your own risk
