I'm trying to do some reputation management for a client and when his name is typed in there is a bad article that shows up in the #1 spot in G.

Is there any way to do some BH SEO to knock it out of that spot, moving it down?
Maybe create a bunch of bad links to it?

Thanks!
Neg seo on a link like that, is more likely to make it stronger

You need to improve the links below it, and push it off the front page that way
1. Start off by buying exact match domains for his name. Get the com, org and net to start with (purchase through GoDaddy so you can use $0.99 coupon codes - Google for the current coupon codes). Create sites on these domains with a few articles optimised for your guy's name.

2. Create a Twitter account in his name. Post a few tweets and link back to the sites in (1)

3. Create a YouTube account in his name. Create a few videos using his name in the titles.

That should be enough to get the negative article off the front page for good.

HTH :)
also just use the google remove link form
