So, I have been a regular Avast user. My primary OS is Linux, so the free version works just fine in my windows VMs.

As things happen, I saw this right after I had finished setting up a new VM, with Avast installed via http://ninite.com (which I strongly recommend. Ninite that is).

Anyway, use Revo to uninstall Avast, and noticed that once you go in to uninstall it, you get offered One Year's free licence.

YMMV, but that looks like a simple way of getting a free licence for Avast.

:-)

So, Avira and I have parted ways.

Found a few things irritating about the way it really does try to take over the security on your machine.

Back to Avast ...

Hahahaha
