Get a metallic cup or coffee mug.

Go to a busy corner that has lots of foot traffic and driving traffic, but also has a set of traffic lights.

When the traffic light is red go out into traffic and shake your metal cup to encourage people to contribute to your cause.

When the light is green hit up the people walking by for spare change.
If all you need is 2-3 bux a day I'm happy to say that if you spend 6-8 hours a day doing this you WILL get a lot more than what you need.
