Are you sure file will not be deleted because lifetime offering is big deal?
Hey Kingstaa,
The lifetime accounts are spread over multiple reseller accounts so they are very safe.
Obviously you still have the same possibility of the account being closed because I assume you, like me, will be backing up illegally downloaded files ;) and that's against TOS for all backup sites... so I can't promise 100%!
But I've never had an account shut down (or know anyone that has)... the companies just don't have the inclination to check everyone's files.
Hope that answers your question bro :)

only valid for one PC
what if we want to change to a new PC?
I remember just a little while ago a big company with Livedrive white label rights offering something similar and then Live drive pulled the plug and we all lost out. It was a WF special and they sold hundreds including one to me! Just saying :)

I had that experience. It was Backup Beast by Ankur Shula and I am staring at my HD that crashed (on my desk) with all the irretrieavable info - it was a total backup failure because I was never able to access all the backup info from the LiveDrive cloud.
It showed the files/folders were there, but when I downloaded and tried to restore, only half (if that) of the files actually had data. The others just said 'unable to backup'. LiveDrive cancelled Ankur's account and he was left scrambling to find another solution for his customers.
LiveDrive gives NO support to clients who sign up under an affiliate. Really, really bad idea. I unsubscribed from all of Ankur's lists because in the beginning there was really no support they could offer. The affiliate accounts have limited features compared to their regular accounts, missing what I consider must-have capabilities like being able to zip and download, instead of having to download each file one at a time, which is how they screw both the affiliate and their customers.
If you want to change to a new pc, it's a simple process to unregister the old one.
Backup would be pretty useless if it only let you use it on one computer forever... what would happen if that pc broke or was stolen?!
Just be aware that they would be on the lookout for people trying to 'game' the system in order to back up multiple computers on the same account!

I had the same problem too!
The reason why Livedrive pulled the plug was because he sold too much space too quickly... something like 2000 2TB accounts in a couple of days... roughly 4 PETABYTES!!!
For the amount of money coming in to Livedrive... it wasn't worth letting him keep the account open.
The solution Ankur came up with was to spread the reseller accounts over a large number of partner accounts, e.g. Genius Rescue
This alternative solution has been running without problem for the last 6 months.
Also, you don't have to download the files individually... they have a 'restore files' program that lets you select multiple files and downloads them in the background.
This is worth getting because it adds another layer of protection to your files... I currently have backup with this service, copy.com and backblaze!!!
ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR BACKUPS ;)

I have an unlimited account from backup lizard to livedrive. Can I also get this one, or does your computer only allow one signin for livedrive?
