While I appreciated the 'step by step' approach, I would have prefered having some tips concerning the tools to use to promote the page via twitter and/or Facebook.

Just use twitter live search and have 3-4 different messages and send out to people who write about your topic but doesn't have a link on the latest tweet.
To filter out tweets with links on write -http after your search term
