Ok
so in Wordpress settings I have chosen a static page "myurl.com/keyword" for my home page.

But when it appears in the search results it just displays as "myurl.com".

My domain name is branded and is therefore not relevant to the search.

How do I get the page slug...[myurl.com/keyword] to appear in the search results for
what should be higher visitor conversions?
Don't make it your homepage then.

The homepage will always be the root url (domain name).

Also your though of getting higher conversions w/ the slug isn't exactly correct.
Thanks, I know that the home page will be the root,
the question was is there a way to change that
perhaps in the code or with a plugin.

Point taken on the conversions part I should have said
click throughs, meaning that searchers are more likely to click
a listing with their search query in the URL.

No, when you make it your home page you are removing the slug.

Only way around this would be to install WordPress in a subfolder /keyword/
Actually, you can do this with a 301.. Not sure how effective it will be SEO wise though..

Either create a 301 in your .htaccess.. or install a redirection plugin and do it in there. Depending on your plugin you may need to create another page and set it as the homepage prior to setting up the redirect.

Let me know if you need a hand!
Redirections will affect your position in Google. Anyway, if you have wordpress installed you can define your Frontpage in Admin Panel> Settings > Reading. You can choose between one of your pages there.
