Its don't matter if the links are down or not. What you're required to do per the rules in this forum is make a mirror with new links and share on the original post to prevent duplicate threads.
As for the part of being in VIP then you should still read the rules about cross posting and that have already been shared in the VIP section. The whole point of VIP section is for premium access to post not to be duplicated in the freebies section.
So with this said here is what the rules say and I just assume because it don't specify that what is posted in the VIP section and in the free section that is the same is still a duplicate post no matter where you posted it.
