USB Safely Remove - USB Safely Remove will provide users with an USB
device manager, a must have tool for active USB user As the name
suggests, USB Safely Remove provides a secure environment for removing
USB flash disks from the computer unit without causing any damage in the
process. It packs a nifty set of features that surpass the default
options provided by Windows.
Once installed, USB Safely Remove creates an icon in the system tray
area and automatically detects pen drives already connected to the PC.
Hovering the mouse cursor over this icon reveals device names and
occupied space. You can deactivate all of them or detect new hardware
changes, as well as bring up a window to view all devices, including
hidden ones.
It is possible to browse a device's location in Explorer straight from
this menu, display selected ones in the tray icon dialog, as well as
open the native "Safely Remove Hardware" screen.
Editing device properties can be done via the context menu on a selected
item. You can change the device name and image, assign a hotkey for
calling the stop menu for it, as well as enable or disable autorun.
As far as program options are concerned, you can set USB Safely Remove
to automatically run at system startup, alter the interface language,
customize the layout and skin, reconfigure global keys and notification
settings, and others.
The application has an excellent response time and smoothly integrates
into the operating system, without causing it to hang, crash or pop up
error dialogs. We have not come across any issues throughout our
evaluation. To conclude, USB Safely Remove bring forth powerful features
for ensuring pen drive security when unplugging them from the computer.
New in version 5.3.3.1225 December 27th, 2014:
Forgotten devices reminder:
If you forget to take out a device in the computer before you go out the
program will remind you about it when you power off or log off the
system. By default the feature is enabled but it can be easily disabled
if it does not need.
Windows 10 compatibility:
At the moment Windows 10 is in the "developer tech preview" status,
however we have tested and made the program compatible with this OS. So
if you wish to play with Windows 10 USB Safely Remove will help you to
manage external devices even there.
Forced stop improvement:
Some Windows services such as Distributed Link Tracking Client and
Windows Search could prevent device stopping on some systems. Therefore
we have added an ability to temporarily stop such services. Now in case
of unsuccessful forcible stop of the device the program can stop the
selected services attempt to stop the device again and activate back the
services.
Minor improvements:
Windows 8 and up: Global hotkey to call device menu is automatically
assigned to Ctrl+Win+S because our default Win+S is reserved for Windows
Search. On Windows 7 and previous the default hotkey is still Win+S
An option to never show again some message dialogs (e.g. forced stop warning) is added
Bugs fixed:
The program increased system timer frequency which might cause an increased power consumption
The program could crash after loading a malformed .ICO file
Windows 8 and up: On some systems physically removed devices were displayed on the list
On some configurations the program could crash on startup (then it was possible to run it manually)
1.Install
2.Don't run copy crack and replace into install directory
3.Done.
