Thanks for the share. Went through it. Dunno if biz owners would find it worthwhile to pay $497 for claiming a Yelp listing....but maybe there are some out there who will pay.
Which brings me to an issue. When you click on Claim This Business button, on the 2nd step, it takes you to a page where they have a "Call Me Now" button along with a four digit code. The number listed is the business' phone number (which they scraped from the 'net).
When you click on "Call Me Now", the business will receive an automated call from Yelp and the four digit code has to be keyed in to confirm the phone number.
This means we, as service providers, can't claim a listing for a business unless we are sitting by their phone.
Which further means we probably have to ask the business to claim their Yelp listing themselves. This takes out some part of the usefulness of our services (from the business' point of view).
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!

I usually get to the point of hitting the call business now button and stop. I then call the business and introduce myself to who ever answers the phone and explain what I have been hired to do. I then explain in about 30 seconds from the time we hangup they will receive another call with a pin number that I need to continue to next step. Ask them to have paper and pen ready and leave my number for them to call me back with the code. Some businesses have multiple lines and for those I just wait on the line.

My services is really more than just claiming it also includes optimizing the listing with all pertinent data and photos/videos if available.

Hey everyone,
I'm going to give this one a try and see what happens.
I like the idea of the $497 monthly fee, but it seems
high.
Do you think certain types of businesses would be more
likely to pay that much? Like attorneys, CPA's, doctors and dentists,
etc.?
And if not, what do you think would be a reasonable fee?
Thanks for any advice!
Have a great weekend!

PS. Go Seattle Seahawks!
