The whole reason the rules 'for holding links hostage' so to speak were created was a direct result of people rep/post whoring and trying to inflate their reps and thread views/post counts.
As it's been said on here already countless times, threads filled with endless pages of nonsense posts bring ZERO value to the community. All it does is clutter the forum and does a huge disservice for other members. It basically kills discussion on the thread. Who wants to weed through 25+ pages of bullshit "I repped you", "Send me the link" etc.
Nobody.
Reps and trust come naturally when you contribute and/or provide solid content and posts.
