Review of Rediscovering Wealth - The 2X Method
Contrary to what you might think, this is a very good treatise for IMers.
Very good because many IMers give up because they find something that works and throw it away (abandon it) because it doesn't seem like it will make the million dollars that they think they need to quit their job. Another case of starting with a mistaken premise spoiling any chance to get what you REALLY want.
On page 5, Bill Stacy heads the next section in the Forward with, "You don’t need to be a millionaire to be free."
The heading of page 59: How to Be Wealthy on a Minimum Wage!
Bill ended up with a chunk of money, significantly less than a million from the sales of a company. He found out that he lived very well without being a millionaire or a having a job and reassessed his preexisting value system. He believes that many of us have our focus screwed up-- he thinks we really crave the freedom being a millionaire brings, not necessarily the number of zeros in our bank accounts.
If true in our case, we are a lot closer to what we want than we thought.
He offers a simple formula to determine what in almost 99% of cases will be just as effective as winning the Powerball. Another quote: Too many of us wouldn’t know “wealth” if it bit us on the bum.
One small excerpt:
Enough Is Always Enough
Once you’re warm enough… you’re warm enough.
Once you’re cool enough… you’re cool enough.
Once you’re fed enough… you’re fed enough.
Once you have enough space… you have enough space.
Once you have a full tank in your car… your tank is full.
Once you’ve slept enough… you’ve slept enough.
Once you’ve out run the lion… you’ve outrun the lion.
Once you’ve escaped financial stress…you’ve escaped from financial stress.
The great thing is-- you get to use his formula(s) to help you figure out your end game. What it will take to make you financially happy long term and how to accomplish it with much less hand-wringing.
My suggestion is give it a read. You can't go wrong.

PS: If you read nothing else -- check out pages 19 -20 for the author's own invention: Bloody Knee Economics. I have a bit in common with this guy for more reasons than necessary to go into detail. I worked hard online for a few years on some projects, cashed out handsomely. You can live very well, do what you like for a lot less than you initially imagine- and a lot longer than you think- AFTER you've been slugging it out for "the man", "men", "bitch" or whatever for years.
