One priest turns around to the other and says: "Don't you think, maybe we should just shorten it down and write "Bridge is down!"."

This has elements of a good joke but needs work. Why are priests putting up road signs? Why are passers-by ragging on the priests for being fanatics, since priests are mainstream?
