Thanks for the info, guys! Bordelo, special thanks for the Sigil pointer. I apologise I cannot give Reps cos I ran out of reps for today.
hi. first u state other apps will do better than sigil then later you state every author should have sigil! which is it?
This is old school, don't bother to get it.

With scrivener (though premium but you can get it free if you look around), Sigil: this is free and other soft can do it for you better.

You do not have to stress yourself to format and upload kindle books

You can get scrivener from torrents but make sure you read comments first b4 downloading files from torrents to avoid virus hammer.

And Sigil is a must have for all ebook publisher, cause is great in editing your ebook and is free

thanks great share!
thanks great share!
Thank you! Reps given
I've just uploaded my newest book to Kindle in MS Word (like my other books before), and it's working just fine!
No need to convert it to anything. Amazon will do it for you. I uploaded it this time as docx (as I now have Word 2013), but before I uploaded it as .doc and it worked just fine. (doc is needed for Smashwords anyway)

I do have paid version of Scrivener I write my books in, but I still didn't get around it to learn how to save/convert it to ebook so I just save it as Word and just upload that.

I also suggest Not to put a Cover into your MS Word version, because Amazon will put the cover into your book as you upload it, and then you will have 2 covers in your ebook. ;-)

Plus: Just read what Amazon tells you - for free - in their FAQ/help pages about MS Word. I believe it is just 1/2 a page or so.. ;-)
And if you don't understand something - i.e. how to create clickable TOC - just use Youtube.

So if you miss Udemy, just use Kindle help page + youtube
