Installation, and configuration of WordPress on Windows and OSX - I'll show you how to install, configure, and migrate WordPress installations. There's very little information about working with WordPress on Windows, and I'll show you the various ways this can easily be achieved.
Various WordPress features, and their uses. - We'll cover the WP editor, widgets, themes, various frameworks, plugins, blogging terms, posts, security, and much more!
HTML 5 and CSS 3 - I'll get you started on what you need to know in order to build great looking web pages!
Create effective site navigation, proper graphics use, and SEO techniques - This is the meat and potatoes of web design. Learn to make your sites easy for others to use, and that are search engine friendly!
MySQL and PHP - I'll introduce you to the various features of the technology behind WordPress. While this isn't a programming course, you'll learn the basics, so you'll be confident in working with this technology.
Each lesson will consist of a narrated presentation outlining one or more topics. Hands on exercises will guide you to perform the techniques discussed. Finally, videos will help demonstrate the topics in action using OSX and Windows platforms. Throughout the course, we’ll work on a WordPress site from start to finish. This includes building a custom design, integrating various plug-ins for e-commerce, photo galleries, and other features. We’ll write up the content, and even create blog posts, just as we would if we were working for a real client.
