Do we want non-English courses posted in this UDemy section?

As well as finding English courses, I often come across courses in other languages.

I could post them, but don't want it to become seen as spam-like if there is no demand.

So what are your views?

Here are two courses only just released and possibly/probably only temporarily free - being used as my samples.

These two Udemy courses do not even require a free or discounted coupon for either. They are only posted in here to get cheap reps for something that is already free and requires no great effort to obtain them. Would you go to Wikipedia just to get a link for info that is already free to anyone and post it here just to get reps? Then why do it for Udemy's already free links to courses? It defeats the purpose of what we are all about, getting valuable info that is "more difficult" to obtain.

I don't think he was really fishing for reps. He just wanted to see if there was interest and demand for non-english courses to be promoted on BBHF.

Firstly, I do very much appreciate your trying to create value here and reduce spam, and I fully support your view on this. It bothers me too when I see people posting perm-free courses.

Have a look at these courses which I also released over the last week or so which were in also free. They all have one thing in common.

I don't just go and find any free courses on UDemy and post them. I only post links that I believe add value, and there is a long process involved in this.

Before I share I do a couple of checks:

1) Does it or does it not exist in my database?
2) If it exists in my DB, was it free?
3) Is it posted yet?

If either of 1 and 2 are "No" it respectively indicates:

1 Indicates it is a new that day or near impossible to locate course. (Not all free courses are listed in the free section)
2 Indicates it was paid but it is now free.

Usually if it's either of those I'll post it.

However sometimes I wont, if I think there's a quality issue, i.e. there's no content, ..... (you'd be surprised how many there are)

Finding new courses is not easy, and I do checks to make sure I don't become a spam artist.
There are some people here who post perma-free courses, that is not me. I go through processes with every new course I find and still manage to find old ones which have become free temporarily.

I can't guarantee all of these courses I post will become paid. However, I can guarantee a high quantity of them will be.

Please don't think that I am just spamming links for cheap reps, I do the best I can to make sure what I post adds value. Perhaps in a few days or a week one or both of the above will become paid and my point will be proved. Then again their are no guarantees.

Both of these courses only appeared today, and if I recall correctly within one hour of the time I posted the message.

I have to make a choice, publish nothing and help nobody but myself, or publish as much value as accurately as I can. So far it seems to be going fairly well.

If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

With all due repect, the following "perm free" were posted by you just in the past two days and I managed without difficulty to find every single one of them by specific keyword search, which BTW Udemy automatically uses suggestive phrases on their searches, which helps at times.
This just goes to show that if I wanted a particular course I would search for it there, if it's available I'll get it right away. Not just see something pop up in here, which is already free and say to myself "maybe" I can use that and never get to it at all later. We need to stop these "perm free" postings in here and make the Our Udemy section more manageable for all of the members.

There is also of course a lot more on a Monday as generally no new courses are published by UDemy on weekends. So all publication requests made from Friday night to Monday morning are all suddenly reviewed and published on Monday, hence why there is a larger amount of new courses listed on Mondays.

Also, as you said, these were posted just in the last 2 days, which means since they were only just released they could still become priced any time, as many others have.

You call the perma free, I call them too early to be sure.

What would make things more manageable would be stopping people saying "thank you" and "expired" repeatedly bumping a thread over and over again, adding no extra value, but making it difficult to see new threads.

What would you like me to do? Would you like me to stop? How could I be more efficient and differentiate whether a new course will become paid or perma free? I do appreciate criticism, however I appreciate constructive criticism and suggestions more.

I can't tell you or anyone else for that matter to stop what you are doing. I'm asking that members make this section more user friendly by eliminating these useless and needless postings of already free Udemy links that are cluttering our BBHF Udemy section.

high yield or legitimate value added courses are always welcome in my mind. worthless courses are not (ex. self help, novice legel microsoft office,etc.)

I'd vote [NO] to non-English course.

Unless it consists very valuable contents to particular group of people that may gain high benefit from acquiring the course.

However, I'm still vote on the [NO] regardless of the exception.

Well, in addition to the "perm-free" discussion. I think 饿死我了 has provided many very good course and some were truly expired after the short limited time. This is very acceptable to me.

But to some other those who like to take advantage of the FREE course from udemy and trying to make it looks like Limited only just to post and get some Reps ! That's problem of the real "perm-free" matter here.

But how can we see that which is limited only and which has been free for weeks or months already? and cut out those spam thread?

In this case, Because 饿死我了 is a trustworthy member as I've observed him . May I suggest 饿死我了 to create his own thread in here on Udemy section with the thread tag " [LTO] Limited Time only ", so that he and everyone else can update your every new post by just simply reply to that ONE thread, and in regard to the ++Reps , we still can ++Reps to him on each of reply/update post as well. I hope we can do it and the forum mod would approve your post as an exceptional one. Those other than that which likely to spam the forum, may admin have their post removed away.
