I started this thread to get your opinion on the best autoresponder option to choose

both options have their pros and cons

I would love to get some insights from people who are using either one of the options, or both and their experience with it

and which one do you recommend?

I am Planning on using a web-hosted solution: Mymail or IMSC rapid mailer and use a SMTP service such as (Amazon SES) to send my emails, mY EXPEnses will be minimum, i won't worry about deliverability issues since amazon Ip's are a of high reputation and my emails will be delivered, and i will have control over my list and also many other benefits

but the main benefit of this method is that you don't have to pay as your list grows which is a fortune saver especially for people like me who are not from the US, and a minimum 19$/ month, is actually a fortune

so which option are you using, and which one do you prefer and stick with

Im using 3rd party just so i don't have to pay monthly fees. But i am pretty sure options like Aweber have more customization and features than 3rd party options.

I am in the same shoes as you. I don't want to spend monthly payments for autoresponder services. I am still new and currently is using free BFT autoresponder plugin and WP Mail SMTP plugin for Wordpress and using mandrill as smtp service. Mandril smtp is free for the first 12,000 emails that sent out every month. This greatly save a lot of money for anyone starting out with autoresponder.

The downside for BFT autoresponder is limited features and only let you have only one mailing list unless you upgrade for a one time fee.

installed and activated the plugin.

Not really suits my needs because all I wanted from an autoresponder is its webform code which is compatible and is working where i can copied and pasted the code to my custom plugin landing page webform opt-in. It has the features i need like can create multiple mailing list , but the only thing is the webform code and doesn't really have a option to schedule a delivery date and time for the messages.
