I have used this method to get clients in the past, it does work, but essentially all the heaver method entails is just receiving notifications from RSS feeds from sites like oDesk, eLance etc into your email inbox using iftt.

It's a good method but I found it a bit bombarding as you're suddenly presented with 100+ requests.
