With my stay here, I'm not sure about the answer. I can give an advise though, based on my experience with your concerns, see below:
1. In order not to be busted by the product owner, means doing the obvious ones, like the username or profile. At least, If you are members in other forum like WF, both of your profile should not be the same.
2. Careful when sharing some of your single site license for plugins or software. Just submit the software or plugin for some BBHF crackers will do their magic touch.
3. ..... still trying to think for more
I'm sure there are still some, I will edit later once I've recall additional tips.

Rave reviews from those guys don't mean crap... lol..... it's just a big circle jerk, they each buy each others 'products' and give 'rave reviews' to them, trying to entice us jerks who aren't in their circle to give them money...
Anyway, is this one trash?? In my opinion, not really. Nothing new here though.
Step 1: Watch TV, or watch interwebs and spot something trending.
Step 2: Make a T-Shirt about it.
Step 3: Ping your t-shirt url.
Step 3.5: (Optional) Make youtube video, with link to t-shirt url, and ping the video.
Step 4: Profit.
Will it work?? Depends a lot on your topic, quality of image/saying on shirt, audience, etc. I can see it working in some cases, and failing in a lot as well. As in anything, try it, or don't.
