I'm sending you rep for this share...but I've got to warn you this plugin is dangerous. Having people sign up to your email list without notification is against ALL major AR service rules and against the law. You'll likely lose your AR account and looking at fines for breaking spam regulations.

Thanks to op and review, rep added to both.

The plugin sounds shady not only for not conforming to CAN-SPAM and similar acts which are standard in the TOS that one agrees to when signing up with AR platforms. It auto-subscribes a person to a list when all the person did was comment on a post (if this is what the only thing that the plugin does).
Having said that, +Rep was given to OP and 1st Reviewer.
Thanks.

people who are talking about how illegal this is or is breaking the laws don't have a clue what they are talking about. in fact, there is absolutely no laws against collecting email addresses. there is absolutely no laws stating you can't send an email to someone that doesn't want to be on a "list". if anyone took the time to actually read, they would know this yet all the responses to this thread are about how illegal this is. what would be illegal would only have to do with how you send out your emails. as long as you have your real address and a way to easily unsubscribe, there is nothing illegal in sending emails. the can spam is in regards to sending emails. this plugin doesn't even send emails. it only grabs email addresses.
i personally wont be downloading this plugin, but there is nothing illegal about it. i hate misinformation and the misinformation being posted here is the only reason i am responding right now. what SHOULD be illegal is not knowing shit before commenting on shit. in fact, i just say shoot anyone who wants to pretend they know what they are talking about and lead people on to false information.

in my country, and certainly in Europe (EU) and I imagine the U.S. is forbidden to collect any database information on someone without his consent (privacy law).
Also you cant send email without having had the prior approval (spam).
In fact, companies that resell email contacts, or send email directly to the account of others, are expressly authorized to do so.
then, the risk of being sued is another matter (unless it is done at a high level). But definitely not a nice way to create your business
in any case it is not clear here if you can still ask for confirmation. I think it depends always from the autoresponder code, not by the plugin

cirus- it's pretty simple. if you want to say that the plugin is illegal or sending email is illegal, cite the specific law. if you can't do that, it's wise not to say anything at all buddy. here's some duct tape so you stop looking foolish....
