listwire is one. Is webbased, has limitation, but for starter it is good enough

Listwire - like others have said, it is free. Being a member of it will mean you get daily emails from the owner (Gary?) with affiliate offers.
One that is not totally free but is a good deal is TrafficWave. People like it because it is a flat fee no matter how many subscribers you have. This is in contrast to some of the big ones like aweber, where if you really start doing things at scale that monthly bill gets larger and larger. Trafficwave also really emphasizes building a downline and making affiliate commissions from it. I think if you get 3 people to sign up under you (and paying their monthly fee) that covers your monthly $20 costs.
