If someone have some kind of online business idea which demands ONLINE presence, thus website - I am ready to build and host website for this.

Profit split: 50/50, but that is not final, and depends on ROI and quality of idea.

If the idea is real, why should someone split the money instead of hiring you as a part-time web designer?

Nowadays, building a website is pretty easy. Building a website that suits its purpose is the key.

I will never forget the fact that Porsche has unique landing pages for each visitor. Male, female, old, young, sport, family and so on... Everybody is seeing a different website, depending on how they came there at the first place. Collage students, each year, must check for any imperfections on the Porsche website in order to pass the exam.

Now that's a mindset that you should have in order to get a serious business partner.

Important part - WEB BASED; so in fact - if you are for example in retail industry - and want to have online presence including online webstore -you will what? Just hire me or somebody else and want from me just to create website and what then?

You will run all updates, all necessary services, maintenance, webserver...you will care about all PHP/MySQL updates (I am senior PHP developer, so I talk from my angle, same is for ASP as well), you will change oil in matter of speaking of whole web site organisation (hardware and software side) and RUN BUSINESS IN SAME TIME?!?!

Wow, every man who do those both things in same time is obviously a GENIUS.

Well, that is what I am talking about.

I dont talk about Joomla, WP or something similar here - I talk about WEB BASED BUSINESS - my knowledge and software/hardware support - your idea.

Again - one more important fact - you can have GOOD IDEA but you dont have a MONEY :). How you will hire me or anybody else? What you will offer to me or any other programmer instead of money? Apple? - And I don't refer on Jobs Apple:)

I am sorry, but you are very far from true state of market today.

I love money as every normal man on Earth and also love my work. And I have a very decent life with my current workflow, but - who does not want more money, more influence, more friends at the end?

And that is all about here - more money and more friends in same time. And calculus here is simple: just calculate one year expenses for webpage with professional look - hardware and software costs; and also have on mind this - GoDaddy or Hostgator - could you ever become friend with them? Split more then money? (Read GIVE instead split in this case)?

Could you call your website designer in 3 PM just to check some sentence on your web?

You have such designers and developers in your team? Don't mind that I will be a little bit sarcastic here: Hello Bill Gates, how are you? :)

webdesign is only one part
then comes content
and finally SEO

So you only supply one part which in fact is not the hardest part

Getting targetted traffic is. and its also the most expensive part
Even with a wp site and average writing skills, if the trafic is good, you can make money and then improve the design

Without traffic, content and design have no value

I am not devaluing your work. Im just explaining the facts.

You need a lot of money to get traffic. that justifies the expense of a site you want to build. So for you teaming up
with a partner who has no money just doesnt make sense to me

It's is useless to talk any further but anyways, here is my answer.

You don't understand how the business works.

If you make the perfect website which is all you know, do you think that you deserve 50% of total earnings?

What if it doesn't work out? You can always quit and get a day job. You don't have any burden on your back...

The idea guy is left alone once again, before he raises again with another idea. Success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.

Also, as a senior developer, wouldn't it be better to get a good day job?
