Windows 7 or 8?
Hi,
Am finally getting new PC. I was on XP on my wooden one but I ll be needing something newer for SSD disk, usb 3.0. My question is about SEO tools compatibility. Is win 8 any good? Not making trouble with tools like senuke, GSA etc? or should i get 7? |

RE:
In my opinion, you should go fro win 7. Windows 8 has nothing exciting but metro apps only that'swhy it could gather just 4% of market share.
I might no explain you about Senuke etc as I haven't used them on win 8. My opinion is based on user experience. "Dream Chaser" |

Windows 8 is no where near as terrible as the media and randoms would have you believe. It processes much faster than previous iterations (It really is a big difference), is visually appealing, offers compatibility modes (Just like 7) and seems to be more efficient. Having said that, there are a few details that are annoying. Yes, the start button was removed. That can easily be fixed with Start8, which works just like the old Start menu. Microsoft has publicly announced that they are bringing the official Start menu back in the 8.1 update, anyway. Compatibility has not been an issue for me at all. There are a few Apps that may not run correctly, or even at all...but those are few and far between (Magic ISO comes to mind). I do agree with you about the Metro boot, but that can be disabled and ignored completely. I also don't like the corner menu, but again, that can be disabled. I currently use Windows 8 just as I have with previous versions...but in the end it comes down to preference. Windows 7 is a good OS and should be used if that is what you prefer. I just don't don't understand why is still so despised by some people. I imagine it comes from the shock factor when it is first loaded, specifically the removal of the Start menu and Microsoft's misguided trend towards a tablet interface (I mean seriously, MS? I already have a tablet...my computer should stay what it is meant to be: an effing computer!). Since it's launch the issue has been addressed very well by third parties and an official return is right around the corner; MS made the usual hiccups but has been listening to the concerns of its customers. It is not perfect, but I honestly like it. Just make sure the first thing you do is download Start8...after that, you will feel more at east ;) |

RE:
I agree with Jiffy, I like Windows 8.
I have Windows 8 on my main computer and Windows 8.1 (beta) on another one and they both run great. BTW, Jiffy, I am running MagicISO 5.5 (build 2081) on Windows 8 with no problems. |

RE:
hey man if you were previously on XP , gather a win7 PC
working on 7 is more faster and convinient Win8 is good if you wanna buy a real costly PC with screen touch / pad gesture technology |

RE:
If you are used to Windows XP, Windows 7 will be the easiest transition. Windows 8 brings a bunch of new "features" (~sarcasm) that will require you to re-learn how to use your computer. If you want to just install Windows and have little problems figuring out how to use it, Windows 7 will be less painful than 8.
