The Low Carb Myth: by Ari Whitten, Wade Smith
![]() Free Yourself from Carb Myths, and Discover the Secret Keys That Really Determine Your Health and Fat Loss Destiny. Does a High Carb Diet Make You Fat, Hungry, and Lazy? The answer may surprise you, but the science says no! The truth is that people can be healthy and lean eating a huge variety of diets. This should tell you that the answer to better health and fat loss isn’t found in cutting one specific macronutrient from your diet, like many low-carb gurus would have you believe. So then why has the Paleo diet gotten so much attention lately? Surely some of the claims about carbs, sugar, and insulin must be true, right? Does being a “Fat Burner” Give you Incredible Energy and Melt Off Bodyfat? Low-carbers would have you believe that all of our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate low-carb diets and that being a “fat burner” (instead of a “sugar burner”) leads to all sorts of magical effects like, boundless energy, superhuman athletic performance, better health--all while it melts off your bodyfat almost overnight. Yet, there’s simply no evidence that low-carb diets were standard fare for our hunter-gatherer ancestors--there are countless tribes who ate huge amounts of carbohydrates and were perfectly lean and healthy. The studies are clear that in general, athletes on low-carb diets perform worse, not better. And there is a huge difference between being a “fat burner” and actually burning off your bodyfat. (They aren’t the same thing, so don’t get confused and be scammed out of your money by falling for this gimmick!). In reality, the science shows all of these claims around being a “fat burner” to be nothing more than a bunch of pseudoscientific myths. Move Beyond the Battle of the Macronutrients… …and into the new era of health and fat loss! In The Low Carb Myth by Ari Whitten and Dr. Wade Smith, MD, you’ll learn the truth about low-carb diets and what you really need to be doing to lose weight, look great, and be healthy. You’ll learn… • The secret that’s really driving the obesity epidemic (it’s not carbs OR fat) • The secret that’s really driving the diabetes epidemic—it’s not sugar or carbs! • How to break free of carb myths and pseudoscience, and eat carbs again! • The secret factors that really control your fat loss destiny (No, it's not the carb to fat ratio of your diet) • How to finally have better health and a leaner body (without the crazy and unsustainable diets!) Most importantly, they will show you how to put carbs back on your plate while still slashing body fat. (less) The_Low_Carb_Myth .

RE: The_Low_Carb_Myth
![]() (I will not be getting or reading it, however.) This book will assuredly be used as terrific excuse material for those who wish to justify their carb addictions. The title of this alone could cause many, many folks great pain and harm. Why ?? Plain and simple it can be misleading for those who are ignorant of their own body's condition. Especially those who are living with screwed up insulin levels and/or are already obese, who have dysfunctions which cannot be related to by 'normal' bodied folks. There are steps one may make over time to reduce the sensitivities and problems associated with carb intake - and these vary from body to body and life to life. No single book will EVER be the magic formula just because people's lives are so diverse. A very typical scenario in ammurikka right now: Folks living on public assistance (welfare of any sort) with already firmly seated bad habits, who use their limited resources to obtain the cheapest, most filling foods; In other words - mostly carb based trash that is empty of nutritional values. Second to the above is all the folks who have inflammation due to food intolerances that they are totally unaware of; Such as intolerances to wheat and dairy products. Such 'foods' are totally normal parts of most folks' lives - yet so toxic for so many who are unaware of what is causing them pains. Rep added for our wonderfully generous and well-intended OP.

Greetings Moataz59 !!!
I respond as I do because it pains me to see when folks can be misdirected so easily. This can happen even if/when authors have the best intentions. Of course, many times something worked for them so they want to share it - whereas other times it is a pure profit motivation... It is difficult to know which is the way to look at things too often now. We are drowning in information that contradicts other information. Testing it all upon ourselves is not a good way because we only have so long to be alive and whatever it is may also bring us pain and/or harm. An example from my own life: Someone once insisted that ALL my health concerns would get better if I just took a coffee enema, daily - because it had worked well for them. My brain sort of shut off at 'enema daily' for a minute - then came back with: SUCH A WASTE OF PERFECTLY GOOD COFFEE !!! No thanks, I passed. (Lucky for me some good and sensible friends knew the nut job who told me this and confirmed that I was best avoiding any and all advice from them...phew.) Diets and plans and protocols and 'medicines' and this and that and the other - Ack !!; Its all enough to make a man go crazy just trying to live decently, in the best possible health within his reach.
