Here's how to do it.

  1. Click the padlock icon and then immediately click the code icon.
  2. Paste your link between the code tags.
That formatting will give you this result:

Magic Button :
Code:
http://YOURLINK/

Links that are embedded in the code brackets, which are then embedded in the hide brackets are "active" and hidden.
Cool
.
Thanks NC!

HOWEVER, your links are NOT clickable using that format and neither are mine. Huh

Magic Button :
Code:
http://Google.com

RE:
That's because the code on the forum was changed. It had something to do with the referrers.

It's better that way anyway as that way there's zero referrer linking back to the forum threads.

RE: Shares and Mirrors - HOW TO HIDE YOUR LINKS
Has the editor changed?
I am replying to this post and do not see a padlock - only icons for
add image
insert hyperlink
insert email address
insert quoted text
insert formatted code
insert php code
insert video link

What am i missing?

test using #formatted code and hyperlink
Code:
[url]http://google.com[/url]

Also when i want to add an image, the preview post shows the path on my hard drive not the image - is that normal? screen shot of editor icons:
[img]I:\Editor_no_padlock.png[/img]

Thanks

RE: Shares and Mirrors - HOW TO HIDE YOUR LINKS
Yes, there is a different editor now, however, the "hide" and "code" tags are still the same and still work as posted. You just have to add them manually now. Look at the screenshots for example of the correctly formatted codes to use.

RE: Shares and Mirrors - HOW TO HIDE YOUR LINKS
I have followed the instructions on uploading files to mirrorcreator[dot]com and have copied the links to a notepad file. So where do I go from here to post what I have? I'm lost. Also, I don't understand the reason for hiding my links. Why is that necessary?

If anyone is willing to help me with this please PM me. I have stuff to share but I'm kinda stuck. All this techy stuff is way over my head. I'm not dumb, just learning.

Thanks in advance, alex44
