OK. So I moved the site to a dedicated cloud server (it was time for that anyway...) and basically upped all the performance settings. There the plugin installed ok. Problem here: The execution time of the process queue is 6 1/2 minutes! Clearly nothing you could do on shared space.

In terms of the actual functionality of the plugin I am undecided still. Wondering how much hype is in Donahue's statements and how much is really happening behind the scenes.

For one, the big sonar thing, in my opinion is just a pinger. I can do that by loading the ping sites in the wordpress ping list.

The social echos? Well, I have no clue really what that is. Donahue "explains" it in such a vague manner that my red flags go up and call out "BS". Perhaps it would be wiser to simply tell everyone what these echos are than to give us gobbledygook.

The PingBooster is an iFrame that gets put on each post that opens up pingomatic and submits that post to the ping-sites available on pingomatic. I would think that a site with a lot of traffic would be considered a spamsite vis-a-vis pingomatic very quickly this way. Could this be the social echos Donahue is talking about? In my opinion, submitting to a ping site can hardly be called a social echo, though.


Since I did not purchase the OTO</acronym> I can't say anything about the blocked features (pingfresh live, 3rd party integration or external links). But I will certainly not purchase that until I know what everything is doing.

Anyway, a lot of questionmarks here. It would be good for Donahue to come oneline and do some explaining.

I believe in the process of retrieving the posts all the shortcodes get executed, which in my case causes a LOT of activity because the posts pull in some autocontent (at creation time)

Anyway, in my opinion this product is far overhyped. I asked for a refund through the ticket system. Let's see whether the guarantee is worth anything.
