This is about creative commons.

This info came from a reliable source.

However, if someone wants to buy it and share it, it will probably be helpful to a lot of people.

Look at it this way. By using Creative Commons, which by the way is really a group of sites, can be used for curation, creation or anything you need a good source of information for.
