Quick Tips For Google Seo For Beginners
Hey guys. This is a quick guide for SEO, specially for beginners. You can learn here the basics of search engine optimization.
I'll assume you have low or no knowledge in this subject so I'll get an example. Let's say you want to build a website and make some cash online. Before the `real` SEO: 1. Keywords Everything related to SEO starts with keywords. Keywords are important words that you describe what your site is about. As an example, bestblackhatforum uses the phrase `best black hat and forum`. In that phrase, `best black hat` and `forum` are keywords. It describes what's this forum all about. If you go to Google and type `Search Engine Forums` you'll find BBHF on the first page, that's because that is one of their keywords. 2. Choosing the best domain name Basically there are two types of domain names that you can get: brandable names and keyword-based domain names. The brandable domain names (like Google.com or Yahoo.com) help you create a brand and an image for your site, but they are of no use for SEO, because branding can be very expensive. So what you need is a keyword-based domain name. You need to think before buying the domain name, the keywords that you want to target and that will describe your site the best. From all that keywords, choose a significant one and try to include it in your domain name. 3. Site creation and design If you know how to work with php, SQL, HTML, CSS and JS, you can start creating your site from scratch, and design it however you want to. If you don't have that knowledge you can use one of the various CMS available on the market. Most used ones are WordPress, Drupal, vBulletin and myBB (for forums) or Joomla. All of them are highly customizable and very easy to use. When designing your website, try to use pleasing design. Create categories, menus and make a good structure of your site. The actual SEO: It is spread in two parts: on-site SEO and off-site SEO. On-Site: - set up a title and a description for your page. Generally, a title can have between 3-10 words. Make sure you include keywords in the title, but not as spam. The description can be longer. Use it to describe what's your site about. Use keywords in the description too, but don't spam. - if you use images, don't forget to complete the alt="" tag. Google cannot read an image, and it uses the alt="" tag to determine what's in it. - be careful on link architecture. Do not use many links on a page, not more than 50-100. It may be considered as spam. - content quality: this is the most important on-site SEO factor. Do not copy+paste content from other pages, write good articles and don't spam. A 300 word article should contain 2-3 keywords too, but not more. Off-Site: Linking: Links to your site are, at this moment, the most important SEO factor for Google. This is how they determine your quality and set up your position. Try to get links from other websites in your niche. Use blog comments, forum posts or link trades to make this happen. Links came from irrelevant websites can be considered as spam, and you may by penalized for it. This was just a quick guide of SEO for beginners. The entire subject is way more detailed. If you want to get more information about this, continue your reading here. And always remember: make websites for users, not for search engines. SEO brings visitors to your site, but it's the quality that decides if those visitors will return or not. |
